How much does Sell Me This Pen charge?
Executive search results, on contingency terms. You don't pay a retainer to watch a firm "start a process." You pay when your hire signs.
How long does a search take?
Our average leadership search takes 88 days. An Enterprise Account Executive takes 57 days on average, and an Account Executive 44 days.
Which roles do you recruit for?
Revenue leadership (CRO, GM, VP Sales, Sales Director); hunting (BDR outbound, SDR inbound); closing (Account Executive across SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise and Strategic, and Founding AE); growth and demand (Demand Generation, Growth Marketing, Marketing Director, VP Marketing); and farming (Strategic Account Manager, Customer Success Manager). See all roles.
Where do you recruit?
Across the US and Canada. We are French-founded, bilingual (English and French), and based in Montreal.
What does your search process look like?
Six steps: scoping, scorecard, the hunt, connect, feedback loop, and the close. We challenge and shape the role with you, define what is mandatory and what is negotiable, source candidates ourselves, introduce the six to twelve worth meeting, recalibrate on your feedback, and stay on your shortlist through resignation day. See the six steps.
Can a search be confidential?
Yes. You can't always search in public: replacing a VP quietly, or making your first North American hire from overseas. Some searches shouldn't be on LinkedIn, and ours don't have to be.
How do you find candidates?
Network, communities, referrals and targeted outreach to the people we believe fit best, sourced internally from start to finish. We talk to 12,000 sales professionals every year, so we know what the market pays, who is about to move, and what makes an offer land.
How many people have you placed, and do they stay?
We have placed 400 Sales Leaders and Reps. Of the people we place, 94% are still in seat a year later, against an industry average of about 65%.
What stage of company do you work with?
The companies we work with run from Seed to Series D. We define who thrives at that stage and build the role around that profile.
Do you help companies expanding into North America?
Yes. For companies expanding from France, and international companies entering North America, we find the GM, Country Manager or Founding AE who has opened a market from scratch before. Landing in North America.
Who is behind Sell Me This Pen?
Victor Vatus is the founder. He opened the US market for a French company, hired 15 salespeople, and has since helped more than a hundred companies coming from Europe and beyond. Meet the team.
